Description

What: An exciting downriver canoe & kayak race that runs 6.2-miles from the Route 29 Bridge at Rio Mills Road to Darden Towe Park.
When: May 11, 2019. First race heat starts promptly at 10am. 
Where: Charlottesville, VA The race starts under the Route 29 bridge just north of the DoubleTree Hotel/Sam’s Club on the upstream side of the bridge off Rio Mills Road. Shuttles will run from Darden Towe Park (where the race finishes).
Cost: $40 per solo boat, $50 per tandem boat, Children 12 and under $5**. Adult discounted rate of $30 solo/$40 tandem if registered online before April 26, 2019.

Boats can be rented from the Rivanna River Company. Please follow this link to rent a boat

Each participant will need to complete this waiver prior to the race and either e-mail to dantriman [at] rivannariver.org or bring with you to the race start!

** Children age 12 and under must be in the same boat as an adult - Register with a "Solo Ticket" and add the "Child Ticket" to your order. 
** Children ages 13 - 17 can solo a boat, but they must be accompanied by an adult who is also in a boat

All proceeds will be be used to support RCA's ongoing conservation and recreation projects.
